Are You Ready?

2 Peter 3:1-18
1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

There is a day coming that the majority of the world is not prepared for. A day of sudden destruction and malice. a day that even most ``Christians'' seem to believe that is far away. But, lately more and more of the prophecies have been fulfilled concerning the last days. The Lord is not slack as concerning slackness. He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But as has been prophesied, many have fallen away from the truth, fulfilling the lusts of the flesh.

Our president, who is supposed to be our leader and set the moral tone of the nation has been caught in debauchery and shame. There are more and more that are following his example and precedence. They are busy fulfilling the lusts of the flesh and every desire known to man. Many who call themselves ``Christian'' have fallen away from the truth. They desire the pleasures of sin for a season. There is no remorse or seeking forgiveness in their lives. They want what they want, and they want it NOW!

There are many who are asking where is the promise of the Lord's coming? There are many who feel, ``Surely a `loving' God won't destroy his creation by fire.'' These are the same people that call themselves ``Christian''! But the Lord is not slack concerning the end times. These days are upon us. They are being manifest all around us.

2 Peter 3:4
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

Today we are seeing this falling away from the truth of the gospel. Many have concluded that there is no sin worthy of death. Many have concluded that there is no Hell. But there is a very real Hell. There is a lake of fire reserved for those who have chosen to fulfill the wicked desires of the flesh. Look at the increase in crime, stealing, fornication, adultery, and every sin man imagines. As the ground cried out in Genesis concerning the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah, so the ground cries out today. Abortion, euthanasia, murder, deceit, lies, homo-sexuality, and etc. are prevalent in our wicked society.

Genesis 18:17-21
17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.

Today the land is crying out to God about the great wickedness that is all around. The cup of the Lord's wrath is full. The day of judgment is upon the earth, and the wicked will be consumed with fire. This day is no longer far away. It is here and now! The prophecies are all falling into place. Will you meet the Lord in the air when he calls his church home? Or will you be one of the majority, left behind suffering the wrath of his divine punishment? Only a minority will meet the Lord in the air. Are you ready for the call? Are your robes white with the blood of the Lamb? If Jesus calls the church home tonight, where will you be?
