Proverbs 29:2
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the
wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
We are living in a day that the wicked are in control of the earth. A day when wickedness and unrighteousness seem to reign supreme. A day when the righteous are lamenting the wickedness all around them with no end of the degradation in sight. When the wicked bear rule, the people are morning. The courts are corrupt. Look around you today. Read the newspapers. All you see is the morally corrupt running things. All that is out there is wickedness, corrupting the minds of the youth
We have a president that by his actions tells the youth that lying, drugs and whatever else is OK as long as you don't get caught. We see a man that is a philanderer, and adultery is the norm. Is it any wonder that the society that we live in is an adulterous nation, filled with sin! We are living in perilous time. Men are lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. We are living in an age that dictates that if it feels good, then it is perfectly normal. The current trend is to say that the murderer is ``sick'', and cannot help himself. We live in an era that promotes riotous living. We are living in a society where the sinner exclaims, ``Who has made you our judge?''
Acts7:27-35
27 But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee
a ruler and a judge over us?
28 Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?
29 Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian,
where he begat two sons.
30 And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness
of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.
31 When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold
it, the voice of the LORD came unto him,
32 Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of
Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.
33 Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place
where thou standest is holy ground.
34 I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt,
and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now
come, I will send thee into Egypt.
35 This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge?
the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel
which appeared to him in the bush.
Though the world detests the righteous proclaiming righteousness, God elevates the righteous. God makes the righteous shine as a light in the darkness. He uses the righteous show the sin of the wicked for what they are. Though the wicked of the world seem to have all the worldly possessions, the Lord God is using the righteous to condemn the wicked. The times that we live in may be perilous, but these are the best times to serve the Lord.
2 Timothy 3:1-7
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent,
fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn
away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly
women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Romans 1:17-32
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as
it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and
unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath
shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly
seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and
Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither
were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart
was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to
corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their
own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the
creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women
did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in
their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and
receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave
them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness,
covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity;
whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil
things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection,
implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are
worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Look around you today. We here of children killing their teachers, parents, and etc. We here about adultery in the White House. We here of kick backs and deals in all levels of government. We truly are living in perilous times. We are living in the days where the wicked rule against the righteous. Is it any wonder that this age is going to be judged by the Lord?
