In the Bible God is referred to as our Father. There are many in the world that think that God is a male from the view that God is a Father. These people forget that God is a spirit and that there is no sex in heaven. Also, there are some father's in the world that are very domineering and demanding, causing their children to look upon them with contempt.
In celebrating Father's Day, there are many in the world who don't even know who their fathers really are. There are many who have been born without even the slightest knowledge that they even have a living father. But, Jesus is a real father to us. He is there when we need his help and guidance. He is there when we call upon him. He hasn't run away from his responsibilities when the world was created. He was there when Adam ate of the tree of knowledge. He was there when man choose to live in sin instead of living for the Lord. And he was there when Enoch choose to walk with God and God took him to his heavenly home. And God is there when we either accept Him or reject Him.
Genesis 1:1-5
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. It was God who created men and women. It was God who made the plants and the animals. It was God who even made the light that enables us to see. It was God who made all things possible. Where there are many men who the responsibility of fatherhood very lightly, God on the other hand took the responsibility to heart. Even when men rejected Him and His divine righteousness, He made a way for the supreme sacrifice of his divine Son on the cross. Even when we were dead in trespasses and sin, Gad made a way of salvation.
Colossians 2:1-13
1 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Ephesians 2:1-5
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Romans 5:6-8
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Revelation 13:8
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Thus the Lord God has shown us what a true father really is. He has shown that he cares for us even when we have rejected us and turned our backs on him. He has shown that he still loved us when we rejected Him and His divine will. God knew from the foundation of the world that man would reject Him, but His love toward us is so great, that even while we were sinners, rejecting anything that is righteous, He provided a way for us to be with Him in eternity.
There are many fathers in this world who take the responsibility of fatherhood very seriously, but they never measure up to the way that the Lord took the responsibility. Only the righteous Jesus Christ was willing to pay the supreme sacrifice for his children. Only Jesus Christ was willing to step off of His divine throne in heaven and come to the earth just to die for His wayward children. That is why Jesus told Nicodemus that God sent his Son to the world to die so that the world might be saved.
John 3:16-17
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
If you would like to know your heavenly father and would like to have a personal relationship with Him, now is the time to seek Him in prayer asking Him for divine forgiveness and a new birth in Him. Now is the time to seek the Lord with all of your heart and ask Him to come in to your life. Now is the time to ask the Lord to make you the Father that you were meant to be. Now is the time to seek your real Father in heaven and invite Him into your heart. Won't you ask Jesus into your heart today?
