Lately the news has been reporting an increase of hate crimes. There have been bombings in LA and other localities around the country. The Bible clearly states that in the last days there would be an increase in hate crimes.
2 Timothy 3:1-4
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Mark 13:4-14
4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?
5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
Here we see Jesus warning his disciples that in the last days parents will kill their children, and children will kill their parents. This abomination is happening today! We have seen where children have gunned down their parents in cold blood. We have seen in the papers where parents have even killed their own children. Look at how a Baptist minister killed his son, Marvin Gay, because he was a rock star.
This happened some 20 years ago but that was just the beginning of what we see that is happening today. Now it is becoming common place to see people who are proud of their hate crimes. There is a disappearance of remorse for the killing of others. Like the one who has confessed to killing the children in the neighborhood Jewish Center was proud that he was able to gun down and shoot those precious children. Did you see the pride that he showed to the world for killing defenseless children
For instance this mornings Philadelphia Inquirer there is an article, ``The topic is hate,'' about the inability of government, courts, and agencies in general to protect the people from violent criminals and hate groups. Of course the proposed new gun laws have already been deemed as a failure for it has been concluded that the
On the AP wire is a
story about the
rise of Anti-Semitism across the country today, and that the shooting
in Los Angeles was just a start of things to come. The following is a
quote from the article:
Last week, Buford O. Furrow Jr. told police that
his shootings in Los Angeles were ``a wake-up
call to America to kill Jews.'' Last month, in a
bloody rampage through the Midwest, Benjamin
Smith took aim at blacks, Asians -- and Jews.
Two weeks earlier, arsonists torched three
synagogues around Sacramento, Calif., leaving
behind leaflets that blamed Jews for the war in
Kosovo.
All of these references are a warning to the Christian community that we are living in the last days. The day and the hour of the times that we are living in dictate that we definitely are living in perilous times. There are warnings for travelers around the world. For instance the BBC has reported that the Iranians have kidnaped tourists. The same article warns about travel anywhere in South America, especially Peru and Columbia. Also the schools here in Philadelphia have armed guards and weapon scanners on the grounds. These definitely are all signs that the coming of the Lord is soon at hand. The day of the Lord is coming.
As another sign of the times in this past Thursday's Inquirer there was a story about creating chemical based computers that basically operate the same way that an animal's brain works. The days and the hours are short for you to prepare for the coming of the Lord Jesus. If the last trumpet of the Lord would sound today, would you be ready to rise and meet the Lord in the air? If the trumpet of the Lord would sound today would something be holding you back from meeting the Lord in the air? The day of the Lord is arising very soon, and I want all of my audience to be prepared when the Lord calls his church home.
