There are a number of preachers on the air waves who still hold fast to the doctrine that the Antichrist is going to come out of the European Union. The Bible tells us that the confederation of the Antichrist is an alliance of ten nations, in which three have had their governments abolished. Thus you have the ten horns with seven heads.
Revelation 12:3
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
Revelation 13:1
1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
Revelation 17:3,7
3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
This ten nation confederation does not fit with the European Union as it is presently set up. The EU consists of 15 member nations:
As you can see the European Union does not fit with the ten nation confederacy as mentioned in Revelation. Some have made the claim that NATO is the source of the Antichrist confederacy. NATO has ten member nations so they do not fit. Now there is one group that does half way fit, and they are the ten Middle Eastern nations that belong to OPEC.
Since Venezuela is located in South America they would not be a real part of the ten nation confederacy that is described as the beast. On the other hand the other nations of OPEC are closely located together geographically and for the most part they have an interest in the destruction of Israel. These nations were also some of the nations who fought in the 6 Day War against Israel. They have a history of being against the chosen heirs of Abraham, and from the very beginning have sought to destroy Israel. Also they realize that the promised land covers all of the land from the Mediterranean Sea to the Euphrates River. This is the area that covers some of their territory as depicted in the following:
Joshua 1:1-4
1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,
2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.
Now as you can see that the promise made to Israel from God covers a territory far greater than the current boundary of Israel. In the near future the borders of Israel will be restored to their original boundary which was set by the :Lord God. Is it any wonder that the dwellers of Gaza, and the Arabs dream of the destruction of Israel?
