The War with Iraq

It appears that the United States will soon be involved in a war with Iraq. This coming war could be a war fought like Viet Nam where we find ourselves fighting against well armed cells of enemy who we do not know. We are now calling them terriorists, but in Viet Nam they were called Viet Cong. This time we might find ourselves in a long a protracted war like Viet Nam. In the New York Times there is a article titles C.I.A. Warns U.S. Troops of Attacks in Iraq by Terror Groups. Looking at the history of our involvment in Iraq I see that we are going to fight a war of our own making. We are going to fight a war against an enemy we supplied with the most dangerous of chemical and biological weapons. It is my contention that the ones who provided the weapons to Sadam in the first place should be tried for treason since they are the ones responsible for the mess we are in today.

This may seem very radical but if we had let Iraq and Iran fight it out by themselves without any assistance Sadam would not be the threat he is today. Also Iran would have been busy with defending itself against Iraq who was the agressor nation. Neither side really liked us so we should have just let them fight it out amongst themselves. Also we could have handled the Iranian hostage situation a lot better. At the present time Iran does not trust us, Saudi Arabia does not trust us, or any body else in the world trusts us. At the present time in history the credibility of the United States seems at an all time low.

This ware has the potential for the start of a war where the kings of the east march across the Euphrates River to attack Israel. The Islamic nations want israel out of Jerusalem and they could use this war as the impetus to start a third world war. The Bible has a lot to say about this war as follows:

Revelation 16:12-21

12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

Zechariah 14:1-7

1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

We are living in the time that all the nations of the world are talking about the coming war with Iraq. This could be the start of the big war described in the Bible. Donald Rumsfeld will not accept the fact that the cause of the war could rest in his hands.
