Last week we discussed Tuesday's election for the president and other offices. Well, we still don't know who the future president will be. This week we will be talking about technology and what it means for us.
The above picture shows two computers. The first has been in use by the Chinese for some 4000 years while the other is now considered old and obsolete by the ones in the computer field. The abacus can be used by anyone without the need for electricity or a mother board. But the Intel 486 chip displayed has a lot more power than the abacus, but by looking at it in its naked form with a heat sink attached most outside of the electronic and computer field wouldn't know what they were looking at. If I handed the 486 CPU to the ``average'' computer user and asked them what they were looking at they probably could not tell me. But, if I handed them the abacus they could tell me what it is.
Both are computers because they will do mathematical computations. But the power of the 486 CPU chip is hidden until it is plugged into a mother board and the other circuit boards are added that make up a computer. Though the 486 CPU is considered old and out of date, it is still a very powerful computer chip. The copyright on the chip is 1993, just 7 years old and considered out of date and obsolete, while the 4000 year old abacus is still in use.
The 486 computer chip that doesn't look like it can do anything has the capability to create web sites, act as a proxy server, mail server, firewall, and a host of other features. There are even some companies that use ``old 486 computers'' as their firewall and gateway to the Internet. Others use these older computers as their mail or news servers.
So how does this comparison between an abacus and a 486 CPU have anything to do with computers, the Internet and the Future? For one the abacus though it can compute, it is not connected nor can be connected to a world wide network as the modern computer chips can be connected. Also, using an old computer with a 486 CPU the antichrist can gain dominance over the Internet. Finally, can you name an aspect in your life that is not affected by a computer chip? Your clock radio has one, your automatic coffee maker has one, your car has several, even the new Fisher Price toys for toddlers have one. When the electricity goes out almost every appliance in your house is affected.
The last time the electricity went out I had my coffee pot, micro wave, TV, and all my clocks blinking 12:00 when the electricity came back on. And each one is a pain to reset to the right time. Also if any of you ever the computer battery die in your computer you know how much of a hassle it is to configure the BIOS on your computer. Today, there is not an aspect of our lives that is not touched by a computer chip. There are cars that have mini computers that can access the global positioning satellites telling you and whoever your exact location. How many of you use direct deposit to put your pay check into your checking account? How many use MAC and credit cards? All of these ``conveniences'' are possible through the little grey computer chip with gold plated wires sticking out of it. Also, this little 23/4" x 23/4" x 3/32" chip with the gold plated contacts sticking out of it, is what the antichrist will use to gain the power of the entire world.
Revelation 13:17-18
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
The power of the computer chip and the Internet will enable the antichrist to make this prophecy come true in the near future. All of the technology needed to make all of the prophecies come true in the Bible are with us today. When you use the Internet, a television, coffee pot, or any of the many appliances that are present in our homes you are using a computer chip. Our whole life now is controlled by a machine of our making.
Whereas just 10 years age the Internet was a brand new item, now a good portion of our business is conducted on it. Now there are eBusiness sites where you can buy everything even a car without leaving your home. You can buy books, do all of your banking, buy and sell on the stock market, all from your home computer. Is it any wonder that the antichrist will use this conveniences to control the world? As the Bible says you will not to be able to buy or sell without the number of the beast. We all know that the number is 666. When you look at the Internet and the Bible prophecy concerning the end times, you can see that the future is upon us. The rise of the antichrist is not some far off event, but an event that can happen at any time. The future is Now! Are you ready for the return of the Lord Jesus? Are you ready should the Lord return tonight to call his church home? If the rapture happened tonight, would you be one of the few to rise to meet the Lord in the air?
1 Thessalonians 4:15-18
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Where will you be when the Lord calls his church home. Will you be one of the ones who remain to go through the great tribulation? Are you caught up in your life where there is no space for God. Are you living for the moment or caught up with the pleasures of sin for a season? The future is here! There is no tomorrow to count on to repent of your sins! The day and the hour is now! Now is the time to seek the Lord and repent of your sin. Tomorrow may be too late. The infrastructure that will bring the antichrist to light is already in place. Are you ready for the call of the Lord.
If not or if not certain now is the time to pray asking Jesus to forgive you of all of your sin. Now is the time to seek your creator with all of your heart asking for his divine forgiveness. As Peter said in Acts 2:38:
Acts 2:38-40
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Now is the time to save yourselves from this wicked world by following the admonition that Peter gave us.
