Born Lima, New York, 1841
Married 1862 in Michigan,
Captain Jesse B. Fuller, son of Judge Fuller of Vermont.
In 1861 he raised a Battery of 6 guns and 136 men enlisted
for 3 years. Later it was Battery D, 1st Michigan Regiment,
Light Artillery. He served on General Alger's staff and under
General Thomas; was at Pittsburg Landing, Stone River,
Chickamauga, where his battery lost 5 guns. In Fort Nagley,
Chattanooga, he was in battles at Lookout Mountain and
Missionary Ridge. He was brevetted Lieutenant-Colonel and
mustered out in 1865;
a prominent Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) man.
His wife
died in September 1867, in 25th year.
In 1873 Cpt. Fuller married
Carrie A. Cressey, Mary's sister.
