Blanche Abbott9
(Cressy) Rhoden born July 27, 1915 in Salem,
Massachusetts. During WWII she joined the Waves in New York on July 15, 1943 and became an Aviation Machinist Mate (3rd class) V-10 USNR. She served in Norman, Oklahoma and Jacksonville, Florida and was Honorably Discharged from the Navy on October 17, 1945. Blanche loved to paint in oil and watercolors, enjoyed reading, walking and was a church member. The Macclenny Woman's Club named Blanche Rhoden as "Woman of the Year 1989." She was named the "Home Resident of the Month" at the Veterans Domiciliary Home of Florida on February 11, 2000.
