Editors Note: There is a discrepancy between the records of
mother and daughter concerning the birth or the daughter and
the death of the mother. The printed book stated July 7, 1915
as Blanche (Abbott) Cressy's death while the daughter told
my mother that she was born on July 27, 1915.

Massachusetts.
Married June 17, 1943 Roy Rhoden in Macclenny,
Florida.
She attended Beverly High School. She was awarded a
Diploma from the Perry Kindergarten Normal School and
taught kindergarten for six years.
During WWII she
joined the Waves in New York on July 15, 1943 and became
an Aviation Machinist Mate (3rd class) V-10 USNR. She
served in Norman, Oklahoma and Jacksonville, Florida
and was Honorably Discharged from the Navy on October
17, 1945.
Blanche loved to paint in oil and watercolors, enjoyed
reading, walking and was a church member. The Macclenny
Woman's Club named Blanche Rhoden as "Woman of the Year
1989." She was named the "Home Resident of the Month" at
the Veterans Domiciliary Home of Florida on February 11,
2000.
