Captain Allen6 Cressey (Andrew5, Daniel4, Daniel3, John2, Mighill1) was born June 15, 1797, in Bradford, New Hampshire, married (1) Judith Sargent. She died 1859 at 56. Married (2) widow Weltra (Presby) Sawyer of Nashua in 1860. He owned a farm of 300 acres, but later traded for a small farm of 30 acres. In 1825 he was one of a committee appointed to meet and welcome General Lafayette at the town line. He was the most conspicuous figure at Bradford's Centennial in 1887; was a Free Mason for 60 years of some prominence; wrote poetry; voted for John Quincy Adams for President U. S. and 22 others; was an expert checker player and Captain Bradford Light Infantry. He died in Bradford, March10, 1894, at 96 years, 9 months.
