James6 Cressey (John W.5 , John M.4, Daniel3, John2, Mighill1) was born in 1790 in Buxton, Maine, married in 1820 Hannah, daughter, Robert Hasty, Gorham. He was engaged in cooperage, grocery and farming in Buxton and West Gorham. His wife was a member North Congregational Church at Groveville. He was baptized by immersion when over 80 years old as an Adventist. They moved to Portland in 1869 and lived with their son, Cyrus. She died 1870 in 75th year. He died 1877 in 87th year, buried in Evergreen Cemetery.

Susan M.7, born 1820, married in 1843 William P. Sturgis, Gorham. He was a fox hunter, trapper, blacksmith and farmer, was Corporal in Company K, 9th Regiment, Maine Infantry, wounded in action and taken to hospital in Civil War. In 1871 they moved to Walla walla, Washington, where he was engaged in sheep raising. They both died in 1902 at 84 and 84.

Samuel P. Sturgis, born 1856, married 1880 Lina H. Hartman, Weston, Oregon. He served as cashier First National Bank, Pendleton, Oregon. He died in 1896 at 40.

Harriet L. born 1825, married 1846 Captain Mark R. Came, Buxton. He was Captain and brevetted Major for meritorious conduct in Civil War. They lived at Old Orchard, Maine. He died 1891 in 76th year. She died 1895 at 70.

Cyrus born 1827, married 1855 Olive F. Grove, daughter Chesley D. Grove, Biddeford. In 1855 he kept store at Bonny Eagle and in 1859 moved to Gorham and bought a farm, then in 1863 moved to Portland and engaged in real estate. Owned the "Cressey Apartments." He died 1897. She died 1922.

Eliza Ann born 1831, married 1856 Leonard W. Twombly, Portland, Maine. He was a painter by trade.
